The Liebster Award!

19:22:00 Unknown 1 Comments

Hiiiiii everyone!!!!!

Before we get started I should probably state that I am not 100% sure what this award is and what it means, not really sure why I've been nominated either, but I've accepted it, so THANK YOU to Elle, the little lovely from girltalkwithelle94 that nominated me. It's very thoughtful and kind of you to do so. For anyone that doesn't know Elle, go and check her blog out!!

Here are my responses to her questions...

1. What is your favourite genre of music?

My favourite genre of music is probably Pop! Top 40 charts is my go to. However sometimes I like a little Rap, a little Country. Sometimes I go through phases where it will completely change and be something different.

2. How did you get into blogging?

I had a blog, a year or two ago, and got so excited when blogging but then stopped. I don't know what got me into it then, but I know this time, I would see my friend Hannah putting up her links on social media, or pictures that were to do with her blog, I kept reading them and thought, I should blog again. So that was what got me into it! Hannah.

3. What is the best piece of makeup advice you could give?

If you like it, and you're comfortable with the way you look when wearing it. WEAR IT! Even if it's the brightest eyeshadow or darkest lipstick. Wear it.

4. Savoury or Sweet foods?

Oh that's a hard one. I might have to go with savoury as I feel like there are more savoury foods..?

5. Lipstick or lipgloss?

Lipstick for sure! However, Lipgloss if it is Matte.

6. All around favourite beauty brand?

It's probably going to have to be, MAC. There are a lot of other brands I love that really are just as good as MAC, but even so. I just love MAC makeup.

7. What is your favourite season?

Summer!! It's so warm, (well sometimes haha!), I feel like the sun brings out the good in people, it makes people happier. Life just feels better in the summertime. And mainly because it is my birthday!

8. Do you speak any other languages?

I speak a little French, and German. And when I say little, I really mean little. It's what I have remembered from high school.

9. What is your favourite holiday destination?

FLORIDA, ORLANDO. That's literally it. I've been so many times and I absolutely love it. It is literally the happiest place on earth.

10. Who is your dream date?

Probably Harry Styles. Like... c'mon. He's literally sex on legs.

11. What inspires you the most?

Probably my mum. She's the most wonderful, caring, and loving person in the whole world. She's my absolute everything. She's done so much for me, treating me to so much, picked me up when I've been down, shown me so much appreciation, made me laugh when I didn't think I could. She's done so much for me and one day I will treat her to much like she has to me.

Here are my lovely nominees:

1. Hannah from Hannah Daisy D
2. Ambi from Ambi in Wonderland
3. Rachel from Hello Sunday
4. Li from LooksByLi

And here are my 11 questions:

The Beauty Tag!

21:35:00 Unknown 2 Comments

Hello everyone!

I was recently tagged by Hannah to complete the Beauty Tag. Now I’ve never been tagged in this kind of thing before, so I was a little excited to write this blogpost, (although it’s taken me a week and a half to actually do it!) If you haven’t read Hannah’s post or even been on her blog, then go and have a look as she is pretty cool and her blogposts are so so wonderful and very useful. (p.s. here’s the link) Enjoy the post and let me know what you think!

Hannah’s questions:

What is your favourite high street makeup brand?

To start, I have more than one, so I’m going to say like three or four. My favourite high street makeup brands are, Sleek, Rimmel London, and Soap and Glory. The Sleek concealer palette is very good and actually hides the black bags! Rimmel’s ‘Stay Matte’ powder is a godsend, and for £3.99 it makes it even better. Soap and Glory’s products are always of a good quality, and last on your face throughout the day.

What is your favourite high end makeup brand?

My favourite high end makeup brand, is probably going to be MAC or Estée Lauder. MAC do incredibly makeup, variety after variety and the quality is unbelievable! Estée Lauder do an amazing mascara, I got a free tester tube after buying too much online, and it is incredible. It gives such length to my lashes and gives so much volume and thickness.

One item of makeup you couldn’t live without?

One item I couldn’t live without is probably eyeliner, I have to either have it on my water line or on my eyelid. If I don’t I feel a little naked and very ugly. I would of said concealer but I could live with my black bags as that’s all I use my concealer for!

What’s your go to makeup look?

My go to make up look is probably the look I go for every day, a natural look and sometimes I will spice it up a little depending on my mood and time I have left before I leave for work. By natural I mean, concealer, powder, contour, bronzer, the occasional highlight, light eyeshadow colours, the occasional smokey eye, eyeliner, mascara and then just Velvet Teddy from MAC on my lips.

Do you have a skincare routine?

I wouldn’t really say I do, I struggle really badly with eczema all over my body, and some months I will get it on my face, round my mouth, under my eyes and on my cheeks, so putting on makeup makes it worse and looks horrible on my face because of the eczema. I wipe my makeup off every night either with makeup wipes or when I’m in the shower I use a makeup remover face wash. I only use the prescribed eczema cream on my face where the eczema is and that it. In the mornings to prime my face and to wake it up a little I use a No7 moisturiser, this is great and doesn’t bring my skin up like lots of others have before in the past! Makeup wipes and a soap is really all I use.

What’s the biggest makeup mistake you’ve made?

Probably when I was in high school and would wear pink or blue eyeshadow, thinking it was super cool. Looking back on pictures I never understood why I did it, but I did and I still cringe for the 14-year-old me, now!! I wouldn’t say I make mistakes now, as I know what I’m doing and will double check how I look before I leave the house!!

What’s the most underrated makeup item you own?

Probably the Collection Concealer. I don’t think Collection is a great brand, I find it too cheap and the products not so great, but their concealer is absolutely great and looks unreal on the face! It's a great highlighter too, for under the eyebrow and it works really well covering black bags!!

Bright or nude lip? Matte or gloss?

Nude & Matte for sure!! If I had a little more colour to my skin, I might wear a brighter colour than the colours I wear normally. But it’s definitely got to be a nude, burgundy kind of colour. If you had asked me 8 years ago, ‘Matte or gloss?’ I would of said gloss as that was my thing back then! But now, I find gloss way to sticky and it doesn’t stay on for a long time where, matte products stay on for quite a long time.

So that's it for today! I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed answering these questions. I've never been tagged so this was quite weary, but now it's over it was a lot of fun! So thanks Hannah for tagging me!

Fortune Favours The Brave - Make Up Revolution.

21:09:00 Unknown 0 Comments

Hello  everyone,

I’ve been wanting to do this blogpost in forever, but the only problem was, I never had the product physically with me in my hands. This payday I finally went and bought myself the Fortune Favours The Brave, eyeshadow palette by Make Up Revolution. I had seen so many reviews and Instagram pictures of this product, I had to get it!

Where I live we can only get Revolution products in Super Drug. So on a lovely Saturday, after I got my nails done, I thought ‘fuck it, if I don’t get it now, I never will’, so I did. There was a pretty big selection of eyeshadow palettes but I thought I would stay safe and get the one I had done a little research about. This costs £9.99 but with my NUS card, I got it for £8.99. And I know, it’s only a pound difference but when saving money, a pound is a pound.

I was a bit scared to try this palette out as I don't normally buy eyeshadow palettes and because i've only seen it being used on other people or just on swatches. But when I got home, I went straight upstairs and took all my makeup of to try this palette.

My favourite colours in this palette are Buffer, Latte and Caffeine Fix. I wear them mostly everyday. Buffer is a great colour for a base, and then Caffeine Fix for the smokey eye look. Caffeine Fix is very pigmented which is good because it helps the smokey eye effect look better. Latte I use in the inner corners of my eyelids to give the ombre kind of effect.

Each colour has its use, and some are more pigmented then others. Golden Coins, Midnight Rainbow, Lonely Planet, and Super Gold are so pigmented and such beautiful colours. I just need to brave it and do a look with those colours included. I lately go for more nude/brown kind of colours, so going for a blue look, is a little bit scary.

(L-R: Glimmer, Buffer, Peachy, Hope, Fortune, Skylight, Transformer, Midnight Rainbow)
(L-R: Ice Cloud, Golden Coins, Cashmere, Tip Top, Yes Please, Green Machine, Smoothie)
(L-R: Caffeine Fix, Latte, Pink Diamond, Creme, Drama Queen, Lonely Planet, Blacqua)
(L-R: Soft, New World, Favour, Sunset Hour, Super Gold, Winning, Brave, The Revolution)

That's it for today! I highly recommend this palette, it is yet to disappoint me! Have you got this palette, what's your favourite colour/s?

Love Amy. x

W7 In The Buff - Eye Colour Palette Review (+ swatch)

23:37:00 Unknown 0 Comments

Hi everyone!

So today I thought of doing a little review on this W7 In The Buff, Natural Nudes Eye Colour Palette. When I first saw this I was really unsure of it because I didn't know the brand, and not knowing the brand therefor meant, it wasn't popular. Because it wasn't popular I was a little unsure of buying it because I didn't know what it was like, but I gave it a go and bought it. I think this was £5.99 or £7.99. I'm not too sure on the price, it was either or. There was a tester palette so I tried the colours and pigmentation out first. There were 2 palettes but this was the one that had more nude kind of colours.

(L-R: Buff, Camel, Sand, Dust, Chocolate, Topaz, Earth, Storm, Silk, Wave, Thunder, Onyx)

I was quite surprised at the pigmentation of this palette, the glitter colours especially! I will occasionally wear Camel or Dust on a night out because of how good the colour shows and stays on my eyelids. These two colours are great for a smokey eye look as well which is even better. I normally use Buff as a base for my eyeshadow as it creates a light look for the whole eyelid and then makes it easier for me to apply the darker colours etc.

For the name and price of this product its brilliant quality. I am not too keen on other W7 products, so I think I will just stay to the eyeshadow palettes. However I cannot complain about this product because it is so so so good and affordable.

(U-D: Buff, Camel, Sand, Dust, Chocolate, Topaz, Earth, Storm, Silk, Wave, Thunder, Onyx)

Thanks for reading!
